I began cheering and doing gymnastics at the age of 5.
I have always said at a young age that I was going to coach and own my own cheer gym to be able to give young girls the opportunity to be a part of a Family Oriented Organization.
I have been to several cheer competitions with All-star Teams as well Middle and High School Competitive Teams. I attended Saint Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, VA where I cheered and become to love the sport even more because of the different style of cheer (HBCU).
When I’m not coaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and I love the beach, tropical places and Seafood.

“I’m a coach because of the kids and the passion I have for the sport itself. There is no better feeling than teaching a child the importance of discipline, hard work, team, effort, dedication, determination and the heart it takes to win not only in the sports, but in life.
I have 22 years of cheer experience. I cheered for 9 years on the scholastic level & 2 years at Howard University on the collegiate level. The remaining 11 years of my Cheer career has been spent coaching recreational and scholastic teams.
Currently, I am the Cheer Director of Jamboree of Gymstones (JOGG Cheer) Mobile Cheer and Tumbling where I instructs individuals and teams in private sessions, clinics, and camps. I created JOGG Cheer to impart, influence, and improve Athletes’ character through cheer and provide affordable cheer training.
Most importantly, I am very excited to bring my years of experience and passion for Athletes & Cheer to EPIC Cheer and Dance!
I have 34 years of cheerleading and coaching experience. I started coaching a diverse group of cheerleaders in Eastern NC with Esprit Cheerleading while in college at UNC-CH, teaching them sidelines, dances, stunts, and cheers. I worked for Cheer America for 7 years, coaching athletes ages 4-16 years old, from the Triangle area across the state to Charlotte. She was instrumental in helping to build the program locations where she coached and influenced the overall brand, changing the look and face of the company. In 2003, Christy walked into Cheer Carolina All-Stars in Hillsborough, NC and asked for an opportunity to coach competitive cheerleading. For the next 10 years, she was a part of the CCA family, coaching the Youth and/or Junior teams, levels 1-4, and helping to create and teach the NC A&T cheerleaders their winning MEAC Classic competition routines. Christy is an experienced tumble coach, choreographer, and dance and cheerleading coach, having won multiple National and World titles while at CCA.

As a coach, I hope to encourage student athletes to feel empowered to show up as their best and most authentic selves in all situations. Additionally, it is my goal to develop student athletes' character, build their confidence, and offer them a safe environment in which they can thrive! I will be coaching Level 2 & 3 this season.
